Rehabitat was born out a great sense of urgency. Earth is in crisis. Effects of the climate emergency and ensuing social inequality dominate global headlines daily.
But Rehabitat was also born out of optimism.
A belief that we can overcome these crises if our environments are designed in symbiosis with humans and nature. We are a proudly South African collective, committed to cultivating an ecosystem of thriving communities and landscapes.

Simon Clements
Regenerative Land Management
Simon started his landscape studio, Simon Clements Garden and Landscape Design, in 2009. Having previously worked as a cattle-herder and a chicken farmer, Simon’s hands-on approach and first-hand understanding of the cultivation of local land and livestock has underpinned all of his subsequent work. From indigenous eco-estates to larger habitat reconstructions, his work is marked by a devotion to simplicity and the celebration of local nature. At Rehabitat, he is responsible for the design, planning and growing of resilient ecologies that both uplift the communities that rely on them and empower a new generation of land stewards.
